Privacy notice

Last updated 13 October 2026

This notice explains what personal information Clean Slate Templates collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. I've kept it short and in plain English. If anything isn't clear, email me.

Who I am

Clean Slate Templates is run by me, Chris Wynn, as a sole trader in the UK. I'm responsible for your information under UK data protection law. You can reach me at hello@cleanslatetemplates.com.

What I collect and why

If you sign up for emails

I collect your email address, the date you signed up and a record that you agreed to hear from me. I use it to send you an email when a new template comes out. My email service also records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, which tells me whether the emails are useful.

I do this because you've given your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing me.

If you get a template

My templates are sold through the Notion Marketplace, and later through Payhip. They take your payment and handle the sale under their own privacy policies. I don't see your card details.

They pass me a record of the sale. On Payhip this includes your name, email address, what you bought and your country (needed for VAT). Some free templates on Notion ask for your email address before you download them, and Notion passes that address to me. I only add an address to my mailing list if you agreed to that when you gave it.

I use sales records to deliver what you bought, answer questions about it and keep the business records the law requires.

If you email me

I'll have your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. I use it to reply to you.

When you visit this website

This site doesn't use cookies for tracking or advertising and doesn't run analytics. The fonts are stored on this site, so loading the page doesn't contact Google or any other font service. Like every web host, Netlify keeps short-term server logs, including your IP address, to keep the site running and secure. The sign-up form, supplied by EmailOctopus, may set one small cookie that stops the same form being sent twice.

Who else handles your information

I use a few services to run the shop. They only use your information to provide their service to me, or, in Notion's and Payhip's case, to run the sale.

Where information goes outside the UK, it's protected by the UK's data bridge with the US or by contract terms approved for that purpose. I never sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long I keep it

  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. After that I keep a note that you unsubscribed, so you aren't added again by mistake. Ask me if you'd like that removed too.
  • Sales records: at least five years after the 31 January tax return deadline for that year, because HMRC requires it.
  • Emails to me: until your question is dealt with, and no longer than two years.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • give you a copy of the information I hold about you
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete your information, unless I have to keep it by law
  • stop sending you emails, or stop using your information in a particular way
  • send your information to you or someone else in a common format

Email hello@cleanslatetemplates.com and I'll reply within one month. It's free.

Young people

Some templates are for students. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or carer to sign up for emails on your behalf.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've used your information, please tell me first and I'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
